Owners want the boat they contracted for, on the agreed-upon date and they want it to work, how they were told it would. Often this is where the wheels begin to come off in the mega-yacht industry.Long periods of warranty works, installation of obsolete equipment, wasting of potential storage space, wrong sized generators, excessive exhaust scale and noise, insufficient air conditioning systems etc. are typical examples of the most common warranty problems.The aim is to deliver a project with minimal delays, downtime, fingerpointing, legal battles, cost overruns and mistakes.

 

GENERAL : Increase the efficiency of the build process by supervising every stage of a yacht project from concept development, to construction, to daily operation of the vessel after delivery, through to routing maintenance and repairs, and ending with the warranty works.Prepare proposals, reports and performance analysis.

Check through construction stages to make sure vessel is to contract specifications.

  • Discover warranty problems and get them corrected prior to taking delivery.
  • Work within the marine industry using my education, experience and abilities to benefit Captains/Owners.
  • Prepare tests and evaluations.
  • Set up web site and e-mails. Supervise and train personnel, and establish work priorities.
  • Interpret and implement policies and procedures.
  • Inspect and approve work performance.
  • Troubleshoot problem areas and implement corrective measures.
  • Act as a liaison between working groups.
  • Prepare estimates, negotiate contracts.
  • Introduce and market new products.
  • Administer public and customer relations.

TECHNICAL:

  • Oversee construction of new ships and refits for Captains/Owners/Management Companies
  • Set up preventative and predictive maintenance programs.
  • Oversee and evaluate the operation of equipment during acceptance testing and shakedown cruises.
  • Install equipment, operate tests of equipment during acceptance testing
  • Maintain a safe and efficient operation of all the technical equipments on board. Locate and purchase parts and equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, electrical and electronic, hydraulic, diesel engines and related equipments, computers network.
  • Carry out sea trials
  • Write noise and vibration reports
